Once you start reading you are instantly imagining life on the plains and the amazing battles that are constantly throughout the book. What really resonated with me his his simplistic view. I suppose extreme fear is a xonn motivation – for those who opposed Genghis were hunted down and his vengeance was swift and deadly. They join Temujin and his family and begin a new tribe, accepting other wandering families into their protection.

I initially read the first in the series ‘Wolf of the Plains’ while spending a month in Mongolia itself on a travel adventure.
